Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze & Glow

Thursday 20 August 2015

After debating for months if I should really splurge on the Charlotte Tilbury film star bronze and glow duo I closed my eyes to the price and made my order off of beautylish.com.

The packaging on this product is soooooo beautiful and luxurious, its so pretty I just want to display it on my vanity! lol A beauty golden bronze colour with a glow finish, and the patterns on it just adds so much dimension. And the product inside is so well pigmented and smooth to the touch, blends out beautifully on the skin and into your other makeup products (blush)

Before few weeks ago there was only one shade available which was more for light to medium skin tones.
The highlight portion is a pale yellow gold that is very pigmented and gives the most beautiful intense glow to the cheeks but still appropriate for everyday wear. Reminds me of BeccsXJaclynHill Champagne pop shimmering skin perfecter just a little more simple and toned down.
The sculpting portion is a mid tone brown with a cool undertone and surprisingly it has a shin to it which I really wasn't expecting because I thought that any "sculpting" product should be matte.  When applied to the skin it does look really natural and give the appearance of a show rather then a harsh contour line, and the shimmer doesn't show up on the face too much.
Clearly this shade doesn't show up on my skin tone too much as I have gotten darker with this HOT summer but as winder roles in I'm sure I will get more use out of the sculpting portion.

Now lets talk about the the new shade that she came out with which is geared towards medium to deep skin tones. I'm so happy that the packaging is still the same gorgeous gold, only thing that has changed is the shade obvious!
The highlight portion is a warm tone peachy gold colour which swatches just as beautifully as the first duo and the peachy/orange tone really compliments deeper skin tones. It gives a really beautiful "bridal" glow kind of highlight. I actually decided to place this one in my freelance bridal makeup kit.
NOW the sculpting portion I was not extremely impressed with because if you are going to create a product for deep skin tones you have to take into consideration that there are many shades of deeper skin tones and clearly this sculpting powder will not show up on someone of an NW50 complexion.
Again the sculpting powder has a shine to it with a bronzey colour to it. on myself it shows up beautifully and blends out really well but I just wish the powder was a few shades darker.
